Open Opportunities: We have three opportunities for illustrators. One is for a map illustrator who can help authors bring their story locations and settings come to life. Another is for a children's picture book illustrator. A third is for a fashion illustrator who can create a few different fashion plates to illustrate different time-lines of a book based on the fashions of the time.
Your Experience:
What is your expertise in illustrating children's picture books? If you also write children's picture books and would like to be more involved, give us the details and your experience.
Are you an expert at converting story locations and settings into illustrations that make story sets come alive?
Please note: we will ask you to provide a sample of a specific illustration to help us to choose the illustration style we need for the different projects. Once we receive your application, we will send you further details.
BookTok Expert
Pitch to us: How would you promote our three businesses to writers and authors on TikTok? What would you do to connect with readers? What BookTok activities would you do to reach out to readers and get them to buy books?
Your Experience: Tell us about your TikTok experience in at least one to two paragraphs. In another paragraph, tell us why you're the best person for this role. Tell us about successes in your past roles. Tell us how you would like to work with our authors in sharing your TikTok expertise - running webinars or training sessions, or helping them on a one-to-one basis? We're all ears and open to all ideas.
Internet Marketing Assistant
Pitch to us: How would you promote our three businesses to writers and authors? Where would you go online to connect with authors and writers? What marketing activities would you do to build a large mailing list of potential entrants to our next awards or to our other business services?
Your Experience: Tell us about your experience in online marketing in at least one to two paragraphs. In another paragraph, tell us why you're the best person for this part-time online marketing assistant role. Tell us about successes in your past roles.
Publicity Officer
Pitch to us: What media would you target to get media coverage? How would you position the press releases? Apart from writers and authors as the main audience, what target audiences would you look for to drill down to different sectors? How would you pitch to an editor of a magazine or newspaper or online media? What media contacts do you have and how successful have previous publicity campaigns been with pitches to those editors or journalists?
Your Experience: Tell us about your experience as a publicity officer and how you have achieved media coverage in the past. In another paragraph, tell us why you're the best person for this part-time publicity officer role. Tell us about successes in your past roles.
UK and US Publicity: Ideally, we'd like to speak to publicists in both the UK and the US as each would more than likely have their own set of established media contacts. However, we'd be happy to hear from press officers from other English-speaking countries, such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
Partnership & Sponsorship Executive
Pitch to us: What companies would you approach as ideal sponsors of our businesses, and why them? How would you go about contacting these clients or brands? What would your pitch to them be? What marketing activities would you offer them in return for them sponsoring our businesses?
Your Experience: Tell us about your experience in corporate sponsorship sales. In another paragraph, tell us why you're the best person for this part-time sponsorship sales executive role. Tell us about successes in your past roles. What kind of advertising sales experience do you have, with what successes?
UK and US: Ideally, we'd like to speak to sponsorship sales execs in both the UK and the US, as each would more than likely have experience contacting different brands in their country. However, we'd be happy to hear from candidates from other English-speaking countries, such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
Content & SEO Assistant
Pitch to us: What online website CRM and Content Manager software have you used?
Your Experience: In at least one to two paragraphs, tell us about your experience in building content and optimizing content for online marketing, and social media sharing. How would you find the content? And then optimize it for our audience? And then share it across the net?
Publishing Assistant
Pitch to us: What social media sharing software tools do you use? And why them?
Your Experience: Tell us about your experience in publishing books for yourself or for other authors. Prado Press is looking for someone with publishing experience to help authors to get published. What is your experience in publishing? How can you help authors to get their work published? What experience do you have working with editors and book cover designers? How do you know if a book is ready for publication? How do you advise authors on what's needed to get their books published? What other publishing experience do you have? Do you have the ability to find needles in a haystack when it comes to what content authors should be sharing? And if so, how do you feel about sharing it for them?
