Writing as Annie R McEwen, I received the 2022 Page Turner Writing Award (Romance Category), was a Finalist for the 2024 Page Turner Writing Award, and Shortlisted for a Writer’s Mentorship Award, as well. The 2022 Award was the greatest conceivable boost to my emerging career, and subsequent Awards have bolstered my visibility and credibility as a published author. I've won some other awards, but my bio gives pride of place to Page Turner. It gets attention; it confers stature. It's also highly motivating. When I get the Submissions Open each year, I think, "What can I give them that dazzles?" That's what it's all about, a career in authorship: the renewing desire to dazzle with words, with plots and characters and settings. I am forever grateful to Page Turner Awards for the impetus it gives me and all authors to do just that.
