Born in New York, Justine Gilbert grew up in England. She has also lived in Italy. Her debut novel was shortlisted for the Society of Author's Paul Torday Memorial Award in 2024. She is now a member of the Crime Writers Association and has written a Tuscan murder mystery, Montecatini, that won a Page Turner Award. This was followed by a spy novel set in Berlin 1991, London 2021 involving the Ukrainian struggles. It is called The Anna Puzzle and is dedicated to the Ukrainians who stayed with her. Currently, she is working on a new murder mystery set on the Kent coast, featuring an animal welfare officer, who assists a local detective when a case of dog napping collides with the murder of a dog walker. All her stories are inspired by real events in the news.
