Kayla Henley is judging the Page Turner Book Award and Page Turner Writing Award for the second year.
Kayla is the owner and founder of Henley Ink: Book Coaching and Editing, where she provides book coaching, developmental, and copy editing services for books of all genres. She has also worked as a freelance editor on Upwork over the last few years, as well as a local self-publishing company in her town.
Kayla graduated with a BA in English with a concentration in creative writing from the University of Denver. She has experience critiquing writing across a number of genres, from fantasy and historical fiction to memoir and poetry. She is adept at evaluating developmental elements like character development, tone, pacing, and plot arc.
Kayla wanted to be a writer since the young age of six, writing as a hobby for many years. Only after graduating from college did she switch her focus to editing. Kayla wrote for her local newspaper, The Sopris Sun, for a few years upon its inception in 2009, and her poetry has been published in DU Foothills Magazine. Kayla is an avid reader with a particular passion for historical fiction, mystery/thriller, and horror.
