Brooke Sivendra from in Adelaide, Australia has won a publishing contract and audiobook production from Spectrum Audiobooks in the Page Turner Awards eBook Award, for Romantic Suspense Thriller, Blood, Love + Lies.
Brooke entered the Page Turner Awards, where published and unpublished fiction and non-fiction writers of all genres can enter their writing to get discovered by high-profile judges from the literary world.
Brooke's style of writing blends heart-racing action and suspense with a heart-gripping romance. Her readers say, “It's like Jason Bourne for women.”
Brooke was told by several NYC literary agencies that she would never find readers for the types of stories she wanted to write. They said there was too much romance for thriller readers, and too much action and suspense for romance readers.
Brooke disagreed, because the stories she wanted to write were the stories she wanted to read. Instead of going the traditional publishing route, Brooke backed herself to become an independent author. And it was a bet that paid off.
She found thousands of readers, both women and men alike, that can't put her books down. Not bad for a girl that grew up in a tiny town in rural South Australia and dropped English classes in her senior school years in favour of maths and science classes.
Brooke said, “The Page Turner Awards are a great opportunity for authors to receive industry recognition for their work. I entered this writing contest for my readers – to thank them for taking a chance on my books, and for loving my characters as much as I do. Winning this publishing contract and audiobook production is proof to myself that my writing is worth reading!”
The Page Turner Awards, sponsored by ProWritingAid, writers and authors the chance to enter unpublished or published fiction and non-fiction books, where a group of literary agents and publishers will read the work.
Kelly Rinne from Spectrum Audiobooks judged the eBook Award and was immediately captured by the narrative in Blood, Love + Lies and offered Brooke a publishing and audiobook production.
