Jeremy Span

Jeremy Span is an award winning writer, editor and budding filmmaker who has developed a distinct and original voice in the worlds he creates, drawing from a huge pool of influences. He began studying film at 16 and graduated from the International FIlm School Sydney at 21 where he made several shorts that experimented with tone and style. He started out professionally as a development assistant where he contributed to the writing and doctoring of several spec screenplays before receiving accolades for his own original work and traveled abroad for various mentoring. He’s spent the last decade climbing the ranks of post production across a broad range of TV including Australia’s leading soap "Home and Away" and documentary feature “No Friend But the Mountains". A major influence on this project was informed by his work cutting archive history programs for the UK/Euro market. Jeremy currently blends his writing and editing prowess with his move into Post Producing. His work leads with character, humour and heart.

Every night in his failing old movie theatre, ALFIE dreams about being the hero in his favorite silent film “THE STRANGER IN PARIS” but even in his dreams he can never save the damsel MYRNA in the end. When he finally gets his wish, Alfie goes about delaying the ending at all costs!

That conjures up images of old black and white silent movies. Add to it modern day marriage, obsession, and divorce, and you have my attention.
