Asmaa Jamil

I am an author and a screenwriter. My writings focus on historical dramas, fiction, and fantasy. Originally from Northern Iraq, I was born into the Chaldean Christian ethnic group before moving to the United States, where I grew up. While in the corporate world, I traveled extensively and lived in four countries. My global experiences and my family influence my creative process. I am also inspired by storytellers from my family, my friends, and my community. I gravitate to family stories with strong women characters that speak to audiences of all ages with ease.

My first series Kingdom of Treasures explores influential strong female character who explore various family and world dynamics. Based on the stories from 1001 Arabian Nights, the tales are retold and connected from the fairy perspective.

I love history and visiting historical sites around the world. I also have a fascination for connecting the old with the new. My world is complete with a cup of coffee and great conversation.
