Arlene Cox

Arlene is passionate about art in all its forms. She fully believes that at the end of the day (and the end of all civilizations) art is the only thing that lasts after all the dust has settled. (That, and children— of which she has two.) Arlene grew up in an Appalachian town where everybody knows your name. Her interest in visual art led her to several art schools (she received her BA from Sarah Lawrence College and an MFA in Cinematic Arts from USC, as well as attending the NC School of the Arts and Maryland Institute College of Art). Arlene lived in Taiwan and France as part of an experimental theater group, backpacked through Bolivia and loves to travel. She collects pets, and tries to meet every situation with kindness. She currently works as a script analyst for Film Independent in Los Angeles. She story consulted on the documentary “Kusama:Infinity,” and many other film and TV projects. She is passionate about the fight for LGBTQ rights, identifies as bisexual, and would like to see more projects about (and helmed by) women.
