Screenplay Feedback and Critique Optional Extras

Page Turner Awards Screenplay Optional Extras offers screenwriters two ways to get feedback on their scripts. We have LA Film Scout, Stephen Hodges, doing Screenplay Feedback, and Hollywood Screenwriter and Film Producer, Glenn Benest, doing Screenplay Critiques.

Screenplay Feedback

With this Optional Extra, you will receive feedback from LA Film Scout, Stephen Hodges. It will include:

  • Feedback on your plot
  • An overview of how your script is written
  • A brief synopsis of the good and bad points of the writing style
  • A quick analysis of why someone reading the script for production would be interested in reading the rest of the script
  • This must be presented as a Screenplay in the standard script format.

IMPORTANT: This optional extra must match your submission, i.e. it must be the same as your Screenplay Award submission, which is the first ten pages of your screenplay (no more than 3000 words).

Screenplay Critique

With this Optional Extra, you will receive a critique from an award-winning writing screenwriter and film producer. Glenn will critique your screenplay for these critical elements:

  • Character
  • Plot
  • Pace
  • Voice
  • Story
  • This must be presented as a Screenplay in the standard script format.

Benest's Screenplay First 10 Pages Must Haves

From many years as a Hollywood screenwriter and producer, Glenn Benest understands what truly makes screenplays work. The most critical is that the first 10 pages of a script MUST really pop.

  1. Your reader MUST instantly get caught up in the story, so, you as the writer should use rooting techniques to make your protagonist as dynamic as possible.
  2. You MUST write visually.
  3. Your dialogue and narrative MUST surprise and delight the judges.

If you command a judge's attention in the first 10 pages, they will sit back and enjoy the rest of the journey.
