Elsie Michie

I am a retired professor of Victorian Literature who has written two single-authored books, produced several editions, edited or co-edited several essays, and written numerous articles. During the course of my career I worked with a writing therapist, Cynthia MacDonald, a poet and therapist who was a Professor in the University of Houston Creative Writing Program. Over the nine months I was working with her I produced the manuscript of a memoir. One chapter was published in The Southern Review under the title "Broken Ornaments." Another was a runner-up for the Words and Music Faulkner Festival Award for best non-fiction essay.
