FARSIGHT

The first episode deals with the events and consequences when Artificial Intelligence is first introduced into policing. Tension and conflict arise in the interplay of the accurate prediction of criminal activity and the criminal’s response when they realise they are being hunted by computers.

Representing the law is DS. Barry Hines: a gifted but marginalised detective. Recently transferred to AI-5, he has joined a specialist team tasked with making Artificial Intelligence work for law enforcement.

On the other side of the thin blue line, gang leader Syn and his girlfriend Laura. Her first-class mind compliments his cunning and streetwise character. However, the pair are faced with a seemingly relentless enemy when they discover the forces ranged against them.

Later episodes envisage an increase in tempo and intensity as the two sides attempt to out-guess the others’ moves. Finally, the climax culminates in the conflict between the flawed force of the law and the gang’s desperate fight back when cornered.
