There are some writing awards which are mechanical. You pay, you wait, and you get an award. That seems to happen regardless of the quality of the material submitted. Not so the Page Turner Awards. From the start the process is well organised and professional, and the works chosen to go through from the preliminary stages are of a high quality. I'm not just saying that because I've been fortunate enough to have my own work go through. I've looked at books by some of the other finalists and feel honoured to be in their company.
It's a long process from the closing date for entries to the announcement of the winners, but you are kept informed all the way, encouraged (with tips and hints) to make your presentation as effective as possible, and there's always the opportunity to visit the excellent website to keep up with what's going on.
