Entering the Page Turner Awards truly changed my writing life, which for me is beyond exciting. It’s because what Paula and Ken have achieved with this Writing Award goes so much further than a completion.
It never felt like being about winners and losers and they gave so much time and energy to find ways to help writers develop along the tough road to literary representation and publication. Part of their approach was a boot camp session they organized with the wonderful Yasmin Kane of the Kane Literary Agency. It was such a great opportunity to get my work in front of an agent whom I really related to.
I couldn’t believe it when I heard her tell me she loved my writing and wanted to represent me. Like so many writers it's sometimes hard to keep believing. I will always be grateful to Ken and Paula and the Page Turner Awards!
