Aleks was born in Poland and grew up in North East England. She teaches Art History at Cambridge University and her academic book, VISUAL CULTURES OF DEATH (Brill 2016), was well reviewed.
Aleks began writing her debut novel, FOREST ON THE EDGE, during her Oxford Brookes University MA in Creative Writing, which she completed in 2021 with Distinction.
