Allison Mattox is a writer and director who studied at the University of Southern California and now lives in Brooklyn, New York.

Her short film, "Échappé," won Film Pipeline’s short film competition in 2019, screened at festivals including Traverse City, Newport Beach, and Dance on Camera, and won awards at San Francisco Independent, Sedona, and Golden State. Her previous short film, "Three in June," explores marriage and sexuality in 1960s puritanical Georgia and screened at over a dozen festivals.

After the success of the short film, Allison developed a feature script for "Échappé" which received a development grant from the Middlebury New Filmmakers Festival and was granted a fellowship through The Story Incubator Lab. She is now seeking representation with the hope of selling or producing the feature version of "Échappé."

Allison also works in theater and recently directed Sarah DeLappe’s "The Wolves" at The Flea Theater in New York City. Currently, she is developing a series about a cult-like ballet company, a feature film about an Appalachian coal community, and a book of personal essays about her experience as a former evangelical homeschooler.

When not writing, Allison can be found exploring new cultural experiences, reading in the park, practicing yoga, or attempting the crossword.
