Benita Cullingford

Benita from St Albans, Hertfordshire, is married with two adult daughters. She is a former LAMDA drama teacher and adjudicator, the author of many articles and three books: two non-fiction and a children’s historical novel.

Benita enjoys acting and writing for stage and screen. Several of her plays have been produced professionally in London and St Albans. `Pick Up,' Benita’s radio comedy was broadcast in NY as part of the Big Apple Short Radio Comedy Festival (CD available). A feature film script, Portia’s Penguin reached the finals in the Goldmine Screenwriting Competition and received two awards. Smile Baby Smile, a short film, was produced by Unital Herts, (DVD available). Benita is the Hon Treasurer of SWWJ (Society of Women Writers and Journalists) and a member of the WGGB (Writers Guild of Great Britain)

In 2020, Benita, with her daughter, Sharon and two writing friends formed a small film unit called J.A.B.S. Productions [Jane, Anne, Benita, Sharon]. They have made six short films and won five first-place awards in International film festivals.
