After a career in journalism, latterly as Editorial Director of a media company offering daily industry news for those working in the business of sport, I have returned to where I started out, the theatre. I was heavily involved in theatre at university, and then worked front of house at the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry and Warwick Arts Centre. Following my journalism career, I'm now self-employed, writing freelance for sports organisations, including promotional literature, bids and video voiceovers. This leaves me enough time to focus on my own writing, and I've just completed my second full-length play, The Thousand Days, which draws on some of the insight and knowledge I accumulated about one of the murkier areas of professional sport. I was born and brought up in Scotland, went to university at Newcastle (BA Combined Studies: English Literature, French, Philosophy, History of Art and Architecture) and Warwick (MA English Literature), and now live in Sussex.
