C.F.Dunn

Claire Dunn (C.F. Dunn) is an English novelist of historical fiction, mystery and suspense.

From a long line of Lincolnshire farmers, Claire might have remained rooted to the land, but instead spent her childhood on the move with her Forces family, a period in which she developed a vivid imagination and a love of language. It is among the few books that travelled with them that she discovered a fascination for the past and an abiding interest in the Wars of the Roses leading to a lifetime of research.

Following a degree in Medieval History she founded and ran a school for neurodiverse children and young people - students whom she describes as inspirational. Embarking on her writing career, she returned to her historical roots with her debut novel Mortal Fire - the gold medal-winning first book in The Secret of the Journal series.

She now lives and writes by the unruly sea in Dorset, with her family, assorted animals and beloved coffee machine.
