Having qualified as a doctor in 1999 from Guwahati Medical College and working in Delhi, I immigrated to UK in 2004. Emboldened by the struggles of any immigrant, I completed my post graduate training and joined as a partner in a clinic in London, from where my journey as an entrepreneur started. I expanded and acquired 5 medical practices,
In 2019 I suffered from a severe spinal cord injury due to an operation gone wrong which left me with paralysis of both legs, a less functioning right hand and a 7 month stay in the hospital, eventually leading to a forced medical retirement from my medical practice.

My family is young so I could not afford to hang up my boots yet so I had to re-learn walking (limited distance with crutches), writing and lots of other daily routines but most importantly had to retrain my mind to accept the new normal. I now have reduced power in my legs, sensory ataxia (a condition where you can’t feel where you are standing or stepping so causes loss of balance), loss of function of three fingers in my right dominant hand, severe and chronic neuropathic pain that feels like electric shocks passing through my body, reduced movement and pain in the neck and an inability to walk without an aid even for short distances.
I'm now an author, a motivational speaker and a painter and still oversee my businesses, with support from my wife.
Poorer financially but richer in experiences of life I now am trying to be a voice for the disabled and blog on my website www.thesecondchanceinlife.com
My book 'The Second Chance in Life' is a honest story of my life changing experiences in a motivational way, filled with gratitude and appreciation of what we have left in life than what we have not.
