Dr Lee Michael Keegan is an Acute Medical Consultant Doctor from Liverpool England.
He was brought up under the cloud of managed decline in Margaret Thatchers 1980s Liverpool and searching for a way out of a world of gangs and street violence he joined the RAF Regiment as a specialist Infantryman at the tender age of 18, serving operational tours of Bosnia Herzegovina and Northern Ireland during the late 1990s before eventually leaving in 1999 and enrolling onto a Fine Art degree.
He lasted 2 years in Art School before quitting and setting up a landscaping business which he expanded for over 4 years before deciding to try his hand at Medicine.
He was accepted onto the 6 year Medicine and Surgery degree at Liverpool Medical School, eventually graduating in 2014 and working his way up to Consultant by 2022.
Dr Magnesium is Lee’s debut book and describes his journey through an unusual career in Medicine and explores the psychological impact of a career so intrinsically linked with death and personal tragedy.
