I was born and raised in the border town of El Paso, Texas where I saw brown faces daily but never on the pictures of the 'About the author' section of books. Thus, I never even dreamt of becoming a writer even though many teachers suggested it since elementary school. I currently reside in Austin, Texas where I’ve been a programmer for fifteen years and work hard to see the day I can become a full-time writer. I have a personal essay published in The Ocotillo Review Vol. 1 and was featured as an emerging new voice with my short story in the anthology FORESHADOW Stories to Celebrate the Magic of Reading and Writing YA.
