I am an English-born fiction author with a fascination for unfortunate incidents, bad timing and awkward situations. I love ‘what if …’ scenarios, developed largely as a foil for my own tangled adventures and sometimes unfortunate luck. I would like to think that my understated British sense of humour, colourful life experiences and sharp eye for character observation create warm, engaging stories that are funny, real and relatable. That is certainly the aim.

Having lived and worked on four continents, I have a rich source of ideas and inspiration harvested from experiences gained as an engineer, business owner, graphic designer, photographer, salesman, family man, expat and traveller.

I am now very happily settled in Brisbane, with my family and dogs. I have been quietly writing fiction for over twenty years but only decided to write seriously when my wife found out, and happened upon some of my work.

I find writing relaxing, a means of escape from daily pressures, and a great outlet for my active imagination. However, as I endeavour to become more productive with the writing side, I am finding that there is less and less time available for marketing and promotional work. The plan is to have a portfolio in excess of twenty books published before I retire, a body of work to use at the basis for full-time writing in retirement.
