I am a debut novelist, finding the subject of my first novel quite by accident through suddenly finding myself widowed at 42. I have always loved the art of wordsmithery, having immersed myself in the poetry culture of the 1990s, listening avidly to live readings whilst at University in Bedford from the likes of Jackie Kay and Simon Armitage. I live in the garden of England and wish my own garden weren’t so full of biting insects and stinging nettles.
I love to spend her time singing and riding my beloved horse Rupert, whom I have nicknamed Moomin as he resembles that mythical creature from 1990s television. I am a strong advocate for equality of opportunity for women in business and sport, having captained the first all-female bicycle polo team to victory in the 2019 world cup in Argentina. What I don’t often admit is that the victory resulting in our team becoming ‘number one ladies team in the world’ is due to the fact that we were the only ladies team to compete!
And that’s my point “opportunities for all is what life is about”
