Jack O’Brien retired a few years ago after spending more than fifty years in broadcasting and advertising. His first book, The Roundabout Way, is a collection of short stories about fictional residents of The Villages, Florida. It remains a best-seller in The Villages’ bookstores and is available on Amazon (KDP). Jack is also a self-taught artist. He was juried into membership in the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh as a stone and ceramic sculptor, and painter in oil and acrylic.
For the first twenty-five years of their marriage, the O’Briens lived along Pennsylvania’s Lake Erie shoreline, where the story described in these pages takes place.
Jack and his wife Pam, a published poet and retired professor emeritus of English from The University of Pittsburgh, moved to Florida in 2018 from Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania. They have three children and three grandchildren.
