John Adams

Having left school, John was convinced he was going to change the world. Instead he spent four years drifting between dead end jobs. After a strange experience on a beach in Egypt, John decided to go back to college and retrain as a journalist.

One of John's English teachers at school had said he was a natural writer so a career in journalism suited him well. After several years of existing on a journalist's paltry salary, John switched careers and went to work in communications and PR. He then met someone special, fell in love, got married and had kids.

This is where John's life gets interesting. His wife continued to work full-time but John stayed at home to concentrate on looking after his two daughters. He started blogging about his experiences as a man that stays at home and 'holds the babies.' Over time his blog grew a following and with his children now at school, John runs it as a small business, fitting it around his family commitments.

John has always had a love of writing. He has written various pieces of fiction over the years but has never attempted to publish any. John is very keen to publish both short stories and longer works of fiction. He has numerous story ideas and drafts based on his time as a stay at home dad. Many of them are bursting with humour but they are also thought provoking as they question gender stereotypes and how we think of men's and women's roles in society.

John lives in the South East of England with his wife and two daughters. He is a keen amateur photography, enjoys fitness and in-line skating. He also has a dreadful taste in music.
