I’m a journalist, currently working in communications in Surrey. Writing has been my life and the focus of my professional career. I’m also an avid reader and was recently excited to discover Ann Patchett, whose novels and essays I’m currently devouring!

My first novel, The Glass House (historical fiction based on the life of pioneer photographer Julia Margaret Cameron) was published by Cinnamon Press in October 2020. It has sold 1500 copies to date and continues to sell through museums, galleries and my social feeds, as well as via Amazon and other bookshops and in-person talks. A second novel, a split narrative family saga called How to Keep Well in Wartime will be published by Cinnamon in September this year.

I have never been represented by an agent, but I am keen to attract agent representation for my third novel, The Small Museum, as I believe it has broader appeal and would benefit from the support of a larger publisher. I am currently researching to begin my fourth novel and am passionate about telling stories of women’s lives and psychological experiences through a historical lens. My favourite is the Victorian period (I completed a masters in Victorian poetry), but I have also researched and written about several other periods.
