Kari Sullivan

I write queer YA fantasy inspired by Scandinavian folklore, exploring gender, animal welfare, and the importance of knitting.
I'm an Oregonian of Scandinavian descent, but currently live in Australia with my fabulous wife and numerous reptile pets.
I’ve published four nonfiction books with academic presses under the name ‘Karen Sullivan’ (Yagara Dictionary and Sketch Grammar, ANU Press; Metonymies and Metaphors for Death Around the World, Routledge; Mixed Metaphors: Their Use and Abuse, Bloomsbury Academic; Frames and Constructions in Metaphoric Language, John Benjamins Publishing). I’ve also published academic research on Norse poetry and illustrated three Viking novels published by Navillus Press.
