K. M. Saurel won her first writing award at the age of six and decided she aspired to be a starving writer in a garret. She holds a self-designed interdisciplinary B.A. in literature, history, and creative writing, which is definitely a major in writing historical fantasy and not a fancy way of saying she switched departments once too often. She's a scriptwriter at an animation studio by day, a novelist by night, and ghostwriter at an ungodly hour of the morning, and astonishingly hasn't starved yet. Her garret overlooks a library in Vancouver, Canada.
