I was born in Missouri and attended Northwest Missouri State University obtaining a B.S. degree in Broadcasting. Soon after graduation, I landed a job as a television anchorman in Kirksville, Missouri. Within two months I was let go and I returned back to my hometown of St. Joseph, Missouri. Within a couple of years I was attending the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Pasadena, California. I moved to New York City in 1984 to pursue my acting career further and got my first acting job Off-Broadway with the Light Opera of Manhattan as a singer/actor apprentice. After 40 weeks, I had earned admission into the Actor’s Equity Association. Soon after, I also join the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, which at the time were separate unions. I appeared in recurring roles in the soap opera The Guiding Light. I moved to Nashville at one point, when I attempted to be a country-western singer with hopes of appearing on the Grand Ole Opry. But that didn’t work out. Instead, upon my return to Missouri, I got a job as an opera singer in the chorus with the Lyric Opera of Kansas City singing in German, French and Italian. As far back as I can remember I have enjoyed painting, and my paintings have been published in books and greeting cards and have been exhibited throughout the country. I moved to Los Angeles in 2005 with an interest in film. A year before COVID, I finished my screenwriting certificate with the UCLA Extension program upon the encouragement of one of my sisters who always enjoyed my stories in my letters home. At this point in my life, I enjoy painting, singing, acting, writing and traveling or whatever interests me. I’ve never yet returned to Broadcasting, but life’s not over yet.
