KYUNG-JA LEE

Kyung-Ja Lee obtained her master’s degree in psychology at Teachers College, Columbia University, New York, and a Master’s degree in directing at AFI with award winning short film.

Lee continued her independent filmmaking career and received numerous awards and fellowships, including Rockefeller Foundation Asian Artist Fellowship, Producers Guild of America Diversity Project Fellowship, Film Independent Project Involve, and Sundance Screenwriters Lab.

While developing feature projects, Lee made 5 shorts which were invited to various film festivals and recognized as the best female director at KATRA Film Series Fall Festival in 2022 with her latest short, KANG BLUE.

In 2022, she was a fellow in ARRAY’s Inaugural Master class and was awarded a California Arts Council Individual Artist Fellowship.

Lee’s latest short screenplay LITTLE TOKYO STORY (currently on RED list in Coverfly) received several screenplay contest finalists awards and the 2023 Diversity Outreach Best Script Award at Santa Barbra Screenplay Award. Her latest feature project K-TOWN BLUES also received several finalist awards in various writing contest.
