Line Rainville

I have been working as an Indigenous Program Officer with Correctional Service Canada since 2008, having previously gained experience in psychiatric care units.

In 2005, I published my novel Saisons Atikamekw, a social drama with Editions du Septentrion in Quebec, which garnered media attention for its exploration of Indigenous culture. I later collaborated with a producer in Ottawa to adapt my novel into a television series, but the project was not completed due to a career change by one of the original producers. I currently retain full copyright for the project.

In terms of writing training, I completed screenwriting courses through Cinécours in Quebec and creative writing programs at the Ottawa Writing School. I also pursued intensive screenwriting and casting workshops with Telefilm Canada, as well as comprehensive television and film training at the National Institute of Image and Sound.

In 2022, I created the science fiction TV series ALPHA-CENTAURI (pilot episode CARGO), and with my co-author Franco Pirrone from Italy, I co-created PROMETHIUM 2122 (pilot episode METEOR) and STRANDED, a feature film project. Several other projects are in development, and the second part of Saisons Atikamekw is currently under consideration for publication
