Lois Kennis is a tenacious writer and avid reader who "writes to stir hearts" with a gleam of hope.
Kennis is a 2022 Genesis Contest Semifinalist in American Christian Fiction Writers. In 2021, she was a Writing Award Finalist in the Page Turner Awards. Kennis won the American Christian Fiction Writers Virginia 2020 Crown Award, as well as the 2020 Cascade Writing Contest (Oregon Christian Writers) for Unpublished Contemporary Fiction Book. She was a semifinalist in the Hidden River Arts Eludia Award 2020. In 2019, she was a semifinalist in the national ACFW Genesis Contest, a finalist in Serious Writer's Writer of the Year, and won second place in contemporary fiction in the Write to Publish Conference. In 2018, she won second place for contemporary novel in the North Carolina Christian Writers Conference, and in 2017 she was a semifinalist in the Tucson Festival of Books.
A member of the Women’s Fiction Writers Association, American Christian Fiction Writers, Oregon Christian Writers, Authors Guild, and numerous other writers’ groups, Kennis lives in Iowa, where she is close to all six grandchildren.
