I lived in Sicily, Italy for 16 years and recently returned to California. I was trained as an operatic soprano, and have worked for numerous Opera Companies in America and was director of the Schola Cantorum for the Church of Sant'Anna in the town where I lived with my two dogs (including Tim, the overgrown Fox Terrier that co-stars in the Terry Strong, P.I., series) and three canaries.
In order to pay for the years of vocal study, I worked for five years as a Fingerprint Technician for the Orange County, California, Sheriff's department and five years as a Group Counselor (read “jailer”) at Orange County Juvenile Hall.
I started writing fiction in November, 1998. I started my first Terry Strong, P.I., novel, "Lethal Relations," in January, 2013. “Lethal Relations” (self-published in 2017), was Short-listed for the Chanticleer Murder and Mayhem Award, 2018. “Poison Butterfly” was self-published in 2018.
I have published short stories in the print edition of Futures Mystery Anthology Magazine (when it was still published in print). I was a judge for the 2020 Shamus Awards for Best First PI Novel and a reviewer for the online edition of FMAM.
I am a member of the Mystery Writers of America, the Private Eye Writers of America, and Sisters In Crime National and Los Angeles Chapters.
