Mick Ford

Before becoming a scriptwriter, I was an actor. I was in the world premieres of David Hare’s 'Teeth And Smiles', Edward Bond’s 'The Fool'(both at the Royal Court) - in David Hare’s 'Secret Rapture' at the National and Peter Flannery’s 'Singer' at the RSC (for which I was nominated for an Olivier) - I also appeared in films such as ’Scum’ and Alain Tanner’s ‘Light Years Away’. My TV acting credits include ‘The Racing Game’ , ‘The Knowledge’, and ’Silent Witness’.

As a scriptwriter my work has included three series of ‘William and Mary’, the four-part drama ’Single Father’ with David Tennant, the adaptation of Blake Morrison’s ’The Last Weekend’, the comedy series “Living The Dream’ for Sky, ‘The Boy with The Topknot’ for BBC2 - and I've contributed to all the Harlan Coben series for Netflix - the latest, 'Stay Close' is currently filming.

'Recreation' is my first novel - and I've thoroughly enjoyed being released from the confines of scriptwriting.
