Before becoming the Principal Law Clerk to the Chief United States District Judge for the Northern District of New York, Mike Langan practiced civil and criminal litigation in Washington, DC, and Syracuse, New York. He received his BA in philosophy and English cum laude from Colgate University, and spent a semester studying British Literature in London. After college, he received both his MFA in creative writing and his JD from George Mason University. He has published three award-winning legal mysteries: Dark Horse (Five Star 2008; Hilliard & Harris 2019); Ready for the Defense (Treble Heart Books 2008; Hilliard & Harris 2019); and Ready for the People (Hilliard & Harris 2019). He has also published four short stories and six law review articles, and taught college courses on literature, composition and law. He lives with his beautiful wife, two precocious daughters and lap-seeking cavalier King Charles spaniel outside of Syracuse, New York, in the United States.
