Crossing the County Lines is a feature length, dark comedy screenplay which follows the lives of 3 northern drug gangs The Townies, The Gypsies and the City Boys. I have written it as a feature length screenplay but it would also make an excellent TV drama series. I live in a deprived area of the poor part of the country and grew up alongside drug and alcohol misuse. There are a lot of problems in the north east with the whole 'County Lines' issue which has become a very topical news subject in the media. I had written an earlier comedy screenplay and had some great feedback and one of my friends just mentioned that I should write something about our local drug gangs which were our own 'Townies' and the gypsies who lived in fairly close proximity to them. There had been some issues with young lads moving into the area from further afield and dealing which had led to some low key violence. These would become the 'City Boys'. This is when I had the idea to write the script about the whole 'County Lines' issue. I have a great deal of faith in this script as there is so much scope to develop the characters and also to bring in new ones. It is written with working class humour and language and has some great twists. I have worked for many years in media producing documentaries etc and 6 years ago started writing and now that is my main interest although I would also like to direct screenplays for TV.

Three successful drug dealing gangs flex their muscles and expand failing boundaries as their quest to build an empire crosses the County Lines
