Marc Remus is a German painter and award-winning author of eight children's books. His novels have received numerous literary accolades and have been translated into twelve languages.

Educated in the United States, Remus earned a BA in art and illustration from the prestigious Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. His artistic journey has taken him across the globe—he has lived in Japan and Central America and traveled to almost eighty countries, visiting over a thousand cities. His work has been featured on television and in major magazines and newspapers in Germany, the United States, and Mexico.

During his art studies in California in the 1990s, Remus took his first children’s book illustration class. His college teacher inspired him to start writing and not just illustrating. The result was a picture book called Painting Brian, which led to his first book and eventually to the Magora series. In the early 2000s, Remus studied at the Institute of Children’s Literature, and in 2016 the Magora book, which he had initially written more than twenty years before, was finally published. During the five years that followed, eight more books were published, and Remus received many literary awards for his achievements.

In 2019, the author combined his lifelong love of sweets with an important message about healthy eating in The Chocolate Clouds, a richly illustrated book that introduces children to balanced nutrition in a fun and engaging way.

His latest book, The Fluffmunches, originated from bedtime stories he invented for his godchild more than twenty years ago. Now, after decades of refining the idea, it has come to life as a fully developed children's novel. The book was edited with the help of Jennifer Rees, the renowned editor of The Hunger Games, ensuring a polished and compelling story for young readers.

Today, Marc Remus spends much of his time on the Greek island of Skiathos, where he cares for numerous stray cats and works on new books. Whether painting, writing, or exploring new creative avenues, he remains dedicated to bringing stories to life through both words and art.
