I am a Conservation Social Scientist by training, my career dedicated toward understanding the intricate connections between humans and the environment. My professional journey has led to the authorship and publication of numerous technical reports and peer-reviewed journal articles, contributing significant knowledge to the field of environmental sustainability. As an active member of Colorado's Writing Heights Writer’s Association, I have engaged in several learning opportunities such as attending annual conferences, joining writing critique groups, and building my marketing skills through writer-focused courses. These experiences have allowed me to grow as a writer and have continually shaped my narrative voice.
While my roots remain in science, writing, for me, has always been about telling stories that need to be told, regardless of the genre. My first manuscript, Life Games, reflects my broader literary ambitions. This is my first venture in the realm of fiction, and it's a project close to my heart. Through this effort, I have channeled my technical expertise into a narrative medium, creating a deeply human story that explores personal identities against the backdrop of pivotal historical events. As I stand at the precipice of potentially shifting my career to full-time fiction writing, I can't help but feel a sense of excitement. I look forward to embracing the challenges ahead, much like my characters in Life Games. For me, this personal journey reflects my life’s motto: treat every challenge as a new game to be enjoyed. And with my debut novel, I find myself, more than ever, ready to play!
