Steve was born in 1947, in Bradford, Pennsylvania, and grew up just north if there in Bolivar, New York. He attended Cortland State University and graduated as a secondary teacher of English in 1971 and began his teaching career in Owego, New York, where he taught, English, Creative Writing, and Drama. He completed his Master's in Theater Arts at Binghamton University and later his school Administration Certificate at the State University at Cortland. Steve worked as the principal for the Vestal Senior High School until January of 2000, when he became the Superintendent for Schools for the Portville Central School District. Steve retired from education in 2004 and works as a copywriter and author. He moved to Costa Rica in 2018 and lives there with his wife, Chritine and their five dogs, Liza, Posy, Botas, Kissy, and Finegan.
