Dr Stuart Gillespie is a Senior Fellow with the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) and Honorary Associate with the Institute of Development Studies (IDS), based in the UK.
Currently freelance, he has four decades' experience in nutrition, food systems, health and development. Prior to joining IFPRI, he worked with several UN agencies and other international organisations
He has a PhD in Human Nutrition from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (1988) and over 170 publications including nine books.
In 2021, he completed New Writing South’s two-year life-writing course, during which time he wrote his first novel. He's currently enrolled in the NWS Advanced Writing Workshop and writing a memoir.
