Having spent far too many years writing and producing videos about large corporations in an effort to make them look good (or at least somewhat less distasteful), I eventually realised that - while demanding a certain level of creativity - my day job did not deliver the sort of euphoria I experienced when writing (actual) fiction. Having had that epiphany, I decided to lock myself away in a small room in my home in Cape Town, South Africa, as often as possible (wife and two dogs permitting) in the ongoing pursuit of the aforementioned happiness, and can confirm that any day that ends with me writing for a couple of hours always feels like the best day ever (the wife and dogs concur).
