Roger Grant

A reference to a dark corner of neuroscience by President Obama sparked the idea for the story, and after a year of subject research a Medical Thriller called GRAY MATTER emerged. My writing Longlisted in the 2021 Bridport Novel Prize and was Shortlisted in the 2022 TLC Pen Factor Award. Originally from Somerset, I’m a UK based British and US citizen and I’ve lived equally in each country (BA Poli Science – UCLA). Prior to dedicating myself exclusively to writing several years ago, I have variously been a TV producer and documentary filmmaker. Inspired one day by an ex-soldier turned operatic street-singer, I wrote and directed the multi-award winning BBC documentary about his life (www.thepeoplestenor.com). I also produced The Greatest Ever Movies series for Channel Five (UK) starring Giles Coren. My creative writing evolved over the years from drafting show pitches and scripts. I have not self-published nor submitted to agents because I’ve continued to edit and try to build credible notices.
