Annie R McEwen

MJ Patrick is a career historian who writes as Annie R McEwen and Meredith Rule. She’s lived in six countries, under every roof from a canvas tent to a Georgian Era manor house, and driven herself to work in everything from a vintage Peugeot to a donkey cart. She creates stories of powerful secrets and perilous adventure in faraway times and places.

Winner of the 2022 Page Turners Writing Award, Genre (Romance) Category, MJ was shortlisted for the 2024 Mentorship Award. She also took both First and Second Place 2022 RTTAs (Romance Through Ages Awards from Romance Writers of America), the 2023 MAGGIE Award, and the 2023 Daphne du Maurier Award. She was a Finalist for the 2024 Page Turners Writing Award and Shortlisted for a Writer’s Mentorship Award. Her short fiction appears in numerous anthologies.

MJ’s books are published by Bloodhound Books (UK), Harbor Lane Books (US), The Wild Rose Press, and Rowan Prose Publishing. When she’s not in her 1920s bungalow in Florida, MJ lives, writes, and explores castles in Wales.
