My work has appeared in the Chicago Tribune, The Christian Science Monitor, Writer’s Digest and Family Circle. A Pushcart Prize nominee, I won the Grand Prize in the annual Writer’s Digest Writing Competition and received a Finalist Award in Prose from the Illinois Arts Council. I graduated with a BA in English from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and earned an MFA in Fiction Writing from Bennington College. Currently, I serve on the Board of the non-profit Indian River Literary Society, and as an assistant editor at Narrative Magazine. My husband and I divide our time between Vero Beach, Florida and Presque Isle, Wisconsin.
