Melissa Mitcheson

After several decades of avid reading and tentative writing, returning to education in my thirties was the turning point for me. Working in a university setting made all the difference, showing me that it's actually okay to have aspirations, take a deep breath and ditch the imposter syndrome...

So at the other end of an Creative Writing MA with the Open University, here I am pitching and entering competitions. When I'm not writing, trying to write and reading about writing, I get on with the rest of life here in Devon with my husband, teen, and two very 'helpful' cats - working in university admin and volunteering with Brightside educational support. I'm also a big fan of the gothic, whether doom-laden or of the more American variety, and women's his(hers)tories.
