Ella Bettarello de Oliveira

As a kid, Ella used to watch scary and bloody true crime shows with her mom. During the shows, they’d take turns screaming their theories about who the murderer could be and how they’d done it. She has always loved to be a puzzle solver. At 17, she moved from her home country of Brazil to the United States to pursue her own American dream. There, she found the ultimate puzzle. Where do I fit in? She was an outsider for the first time in a new country. During those first few years of adapting into a new culture, the characters from all the many TV shows she used to binge, were her friends. She loved diving into their worlds and helping them solve their mysteries as she watched. Nowadays, Ella writes teen dramas and mysteries for all of the other puzzle solvers out there who might be feeling alone.

It was hard to tell from the first 10 pages that this was a reality show shoot. I thought the opening scenes were about a scripted TV show shoot. The story has a great opening but then I lose track of what is happening. Too many characters introduced at once so it is hard to follow who is who.
