I really like the concept. Poor Lily. You've managed to capture both the dread and the acceptance of her strange position so well.

I loved the little touches of humour nestled in what could be such a morose story. With a little bit of work on the dialogue to make it flow better, you’re off to a great start. Lily is a hugely likeable character and I’m sure readers will love her. I’m curious to know what is going on and how she might turn it around. Good stuff.

This is a lovely start to what promises to be a quirky story. It's a great opener and I love the notion of a nice quiet library worker being plagued by deaths and funerals - there's suspense automatically built in on every interaction Lily has, you've got me asking questions from the get go (why is Kara immune?) and you've dropped in a lovely hint about witches which I've jumped on hugrily.
