Ciara Mullaney

Ciara is a secondary school teacher with a degree in English and History and a masters in education. She has previously had work shortlisted and longlisted in a number of online publications and has had her short story published in the 2021 Cork County Library and Arts Service’s 'From the Well' Anthology. She is a winner of the Page Turner mentorship award 2022 and a runner up in the Irish Writer’s Centre Novel Fair 2023. She is living in Cork, Ireland where she is currently working on her debut novel.

Eight different people from various walks of life have been left stranded at Dublin airport due to an approaching storm indefinitely delaying their flight to New York. Each one has a different reason for their trip and a different deadline waiting for them in New York.

Mmm... I like the sound of this story. There appears to be lots of options open as to where it can go. And of course that must be in an engaging, interesting way. Writing is quite well done and lays out the frustrations of each passenger. I am interested to read more.

I feel cheated that I didn't get to meet the other 4 characters! Great opening. Lots of intrigue in each of the stories and great characterisation. Well done!
