Excellent scene setting within these opening pages, well-written tension and you can feel the sensation of overwhelm of the lead character.

There is also a subtle but effective sense of place and culture that makes me want to read on.

The opening sequence of the exchange of letters to the magazine is an unusual but effective device to draw in the reader.

A very promising start and I think the premise. holds great potential for a modern, relevant and fresh story.
