Jamie Campbell

Jamie Campbell thrives by finding ways to laugh in the midst of darkness. It’s a survival mechanism for a guy who is lucky to still be alive. When he was eleven years-old, he was kidnapped by one of his parents who took him on the run for six months before police caught up to them. As a teenager, he was beaten at gunpoint at a keg party after accidentally breaking someone’s car window. As an adult, he was assaulted as part of a Chicago gang initiation - and these are just the highlights.

Somehow (therapy), he managed to become a well-adjusted forty-something husband to the nicest girl in the Midwest. When he isn’t writing, Jamie is a nationally touring stand-up comedian who tries to find hope in topics typically associated with despair. He lives in Kansas City with his wife, Jessica and their dog Millie.

He began his screenwriting career as a staff writer for the cult-favorite webseries Lunch and Learn, which has been viewed millions of times online, and his dark thriller script Mourning Sickness was recently produced by V-Pac Productions in the United Kingdom.

His screenplay, Sneakerhead was the Grand Prize winner in the Dallas International Film Festival, and is currently in pre-production with Torfoot Studios. He is also a staff writer for an upcoming holiday feature film from Clearlight Media.

His feature screenplay, Call Me Thor, was a second round selection for the Sundance Institute's development track, and his most recent feature script, Kirby in Limbo, was named by Write LA as one of their Top 5 scripts of the year. Both of those scripts are currently available for production.
